A Word About Soulfulness

Understanding the soul can seem like something that is exclusively available to those who are spiritual or have a belief system. While it is true that inquiries about the soul are what spirituality is all about, one does not need to be spiritual to connect to the concept of the soul. In the field of counseling, meaning-making and strength-finding are the bedrocks of working with clients. Inquiries of the soul are essentially asking questions about a deeper part of yourself that isn’t preoccupied with the mundane aspects of life.

Accessing soulfulness might be the easiest path toward your soul’s answers. The experience of soulfulness varies from person to person; in fact, even the recognition of soulfulness may differ. Recognizing when your soul comes alive can be described as enthusiasm, joyfulness, a sense of magic, awe, openness, a feeling of recognition, and an experience of feeling an inner resonance. Have you ever listened to a song that brought you someplace else and made you feel like you just had to start dancing? Have you ever been in a conversation that felt like something magical was happening in the merging of new ideas? Have you ever been in nature and felt a sense of awe that stirred something deep inside?

When soulfulness strikes, enjoy it and learn that your soul wants more of this kind of experience. Following your soul infuses more meaning into your life, effortlessly. When you are living soulfully, you will naturally possess more clarity and ease.
