Studying cellular biology in my early years, I sensed that I was learning something much more important than the study of a single cell’s inner workings. I was so intrigued by the material and intuitively, I knew that the applicability of the information was far reaching. I have come to find out that I was right.
How to Navigate Getting Closer Again:
The physical distance of the last year has not been easy. We miss hugs. We miss contact. We miss thoughtlessly passing our neighbors on the street. We miss sitting close to one another on the train in the morning. The idea of getting to be close again one day, gradually, as we hope to see the threat of Covid-19 retreating, brings joyful tears to our eyes. Our psyches, however, don’t always align with our ideas. How we think we should react to getting closer to one another may differ from our real feelings and experiences.
What Just Happened at the Capitol?
The attack on our nation’s Capitol has me reeling. My mind fluctuates between deep concern and intense interest. There are so many worrisome and complex aspects to what occurred on that terrifying day. The new information released on a daily basis accompanied by striking pictures and videos tells different parts of many stories about what is truly happening in our nation and our world.
